Product Description

Have you ever glanced at a piece of mail and known exactly what it was without reading the full text? That skill is part of your schema, the experiences you’ve had and inferences you can make to give meaning to text. Reading is a skill that encompasses far more than phonemic awareness. Learn how to guide your gifted students to create dynamic meaning from their readings.

In this 1-hour course, you will learn to:
  • Understand gifted students’ unique social and emotional needs
  • Teach students to draw from schema and text to create meaning
  • Use running records to hone in on reading problems
